Douglas Scott Alford is a graduate of the University of Houston and Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Douglas was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas where his parents instilled the importance of education, hard work, and determination. Douglas moved to Houston when he was 18 to attend the University of Houston and stayed in Houston after graduating from Thurgood Marschall School of Law.
Douglas is now a trial attorney engaging primarily in civil litigation, business and consumer law, and real-property matters. He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2022 and has prior work experience in family law, estate and probate, eviction defense, and debt-defense. During law school, Douglas had the opportunity to become a student-attorney for the Family-Law Clinic of Thurgood Marschall School of Law under the late Thelma Harmon, to which he gained invaluable experience. Throughout his undergraduate studies, Douglas had the privilege of working with Texas State Senator Borris Miles, including the 2019 Texas Legislative session, and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Political Science, minoring in Public Relations. Before working at The Gonzalez Law Group, Douglas worked at a small Houston area law firm focusing on Consumer Law, Solar Panels, debt defense, evictions, and real-property disputes.
In his free time, Douglas enjoys fishing, hunting, watching sports, playing video games, and spending time with his girlfriend.
