West Texas Detention Facility

The West Texas Detention facility is located south of El Paso in Sierra Blanca, Texas. This west Texas facility can hold a little over 1,000 noncitizens who have either been captured by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and are waiting to speak to an immigration judge or are waiting for the results of their asylum request. This detention center is one of hundreds currently in operation all over the United States.

The recent rise in immigration arrests and deportations have seen thousands of noncitizens deported back to their country in the last two years. Many of these noncitizens do not have legal representation and do not fully understand what is happening or what their rights are in court. The best thing a person can do if they are put in the West Texas Detention Facility is to seek the advice of an experienced immigration lawyer.
