Ruben Anthony Nájera

Ruben Anthony Nájera is a bilingual trial attorney at The Gonzalez Law Group, PLLC with fourteen years of experience, with over half of that time concentrating on Family Based Immigration and Immigration Court Representation. Ruben has previous experience working as an Assistant District Attorney, in Hidalgo County, he has represented children and families in areas of Special Education Law, Criminal Defense, and Family Law.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Dallas, graduating with honors, where he was also the founding father to the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, Texas Chi Chapter; President of the Phi Theta Kappa Alumni Association; and a member of the College Cheerleading Team. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan where he was the First Year Litigator Winner, member of 3 National Mock Trial Teams competing in Michigan, Ohio and New York, Voted Best Graduating Litigator, elected as the Student Speaker at graduation, and was on the Dean’s list.

Ruben was born and raised in southwest Texas in the town of La Pryor. Family is extremely important to Ruben. He is married to his husband Brian, a high school band director and professional musician. They have two amazing children, Nathan and Isabella, that they were able to adopt in September of 2022, after they were placed in their home through the Texas Foster Care system. Ruben’s passion and drive all stem from the desire to help others. His one main goal in life is to know that he has made a difference in someone else’s life. Ruben’s past work as an Elementary and High School teacher combined with this activism and desire to fight for other gives him a unique and true understanding of the family dynamic when representing his clients. He knows that the legal issue that he is fighting has long lasting effects on the client and the family unit.
