Andres Fernandez

Andres Fernandez is a trial attorney who focuses on criminal defense before the Texas state and federal courts. Previous experience includes practice in the areas of Immigration, FDIC litigation and Maritime Law, as well as insurance law and commercial litigation.

Prior to joining The Gonzalez Law Group, Mr. Fernandez owned and operated his own law firm, focusing on criminal defense and immigration. While at the Gonzalez Law Group, Mr. Fernandez has helped hundreds of individuals across Texas in counties such as Harris, Montgomery, Fort Bend, Galveston, Brazoria, Liberty, Travis and Tarrant. Mr. Fernandez has participated in several criminal trials, including, but not limited to, Engaging in Organized Crime (Murder), Continuous Sexual Assault of a Child, Intoxication Assault, Manslaughter (Vehicular), Assault of a Peace Officer and Assault – Bodily Injury – Family Member.

At the Federal level, Mr. Fernandez began gaining experience while in law school, where he participated in the federal criminal defense clinic. He has since been involved in cases related to drug trafficking, organized crime and kidnapping.

Mr. Fernandez draws on his past work as an Immigration lawyer to properly counsel and represent Clients facing harmful immigration consequences because of a criminal accusation.

Mr. Fernandez is fully bilingual (Spanish and English) and obtained his law degree from the University of Puerto Rico, School of Law. During law school, he was a member of the Law Review, as well as one of the lead editors of the international law publication, Pangaea. Mr. Fernandez obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Houston.

Mr. Fernandez represents his Clients accused of criminal behavior with the following principles in mind:

  • Many of the accused of criminal behavior are innocent or made one-time mistakes.
  • Everybody deserves a second chance.
  • The crafting of a legal defense strategy is based on teamwork and feedback between the Client and the Attorney.
